Erica Butler, MAI, is a Founding Instructor of The Valuation Collective, where she helps women appraisers develop the confidence, communication skills, and professional presence necessary to expand their careers beyond traditional valuation assignments.

With more than 15 years of commercial real estate valuation and consulting experience, Erica serves as Managing Director of Valuation & Advisory at Nova. She advises lenders, attorneys, investors, developers, municipalities, and private owners on complex valuation assignments across the United States. She holds the MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute and currently serves as President-Elect of the North Carolina Chapter of the Appraisal Institute. Her leadership and contributions to the profession have been recognized through the Appraisal Institute's William T. Anglyn Award and the North Carolina Appraisal Institute's Innovator Award.

Before entering the valuation profession, Erica earned a degree in Performance Studies from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she adapted novels into stage productions and performed, produced, and directed her own work. She was also a member of CHiPs, the university's improvisational comedy troupe. After graduation, she founded THE JAM: CLT, a dance-based fitness company that has spent the last decade building a diverse community centered on confidence, empowerment, and connection.

Through her work in valuation, entrepreneurship, performance, and leadership, Erica has learned that expertise alone does not create success.
