Faye Lefurgey, SRA, AI-RRS

Founding Instructor, The Valuation Collective

For nearly four decades, Faye Lefurgey has built her career on seeing appraisal work from the other side of the desk.

As Principal of FL Advisory Group in Orange County, California, Faye has developed a national practice focused on residential and commercial appraisal review . Her work spans desk, audit, retrospective, and forensic reviews, as well as USPAP compliance, GSE guideline analysis, repurchase defense, litigation consulting, and capital-markets portfolio review.

That experience has put Faye in the position of examining not only whether a value conclusion is supported, but how an appraisal holds up under scrutiny. She has evaluated complex assignments involving highest and best use, permitted use, fraud indicators, and conflicting valuation data, while reconciling appraisals, broker price opinions, and automated valuation models. She has also worked with appraisals at the center of litigation, where the details of an analysis—and the ability to clearly support them—carry even greater weight.

Over the course of her career, Faye has worked with banks, credit unions, investors, appraisal management companies, and other institutional clients across the country. She has also mentored less-experienced reviewers, sharing the judgment and attention to detail that come from decades spent evaluating valuation work.

Faye holds both the SRA and AI-RRS designations from the Appraisal Institute and maintains Certified General Appraiser licenses in multiple states. She earned her bachelor’s degree in Political Science from UCLA.

As a Founding Faculty member of The Valuation Collective, Faye brings a perspective few appraisers ever get access to: what happens after the report leaves your hands. Drawing from 37 years of review experience, she helps appraisers understand what reviewers notice, where reports become vulnerable, and how stronger analysis and documentation can produce work that stands up to scrutiny.
