Lori Noble, SRA
Founding Instructor, The Valuation Collective
“Ask the hard questions, gather facts, and stand by your knowledge; help others find the confidence to do the same.” —Lori
Lori Noble is a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser, educator, and mentor with thirty years of experience in residential valuation. Based in West Virginia, she specializes in rural and complex properties, assignments that rarely fit neatly into standardized forms or conventional lending expectations. Her work reflects the careful market research, sound judgment, and practical problem solving required when appraising properties for which the available data does not always provide an obvious answer.
Lori’s influence extends well beyond her own appraisal practice. She helped lead the advocacy effort that resulted in state legislation strengthening agency and appraiser licensing laws, and she remains actively involved in regulatory and public policy initiatives at both the state and national levels. Her work is rooted in a belief that licensing laws and professional standards must do more than regulate practitioners. They must also protect consumers, promote accountability, and preserve public trust in the valuation profession.
Education has been another defining part of Lori’s career. As Director of Education for AppraiserFest, she curated and delivered approved continuing education to appraisers and other licensees in 38 states. Her approach went beyond simply satisfying continuing education requirements. She focused on creating relevant, engaging programs that gave participants practical tools and frameworks they could put to work immediately.
The Appraisers Economic Forum continued that mission by raising the bar for professional education and encouraging appraisers to think more critically about their businesses, their economic value, and their place within the broader real estate industry. It was not simply another continuing education event. It was an experience.
Today, Lori is cofounder and cochair of the Appraisal Regulation Compliance Council, known as ARCC. This nonprofit research organization focuses on appraisal licensing law, regulatory compliance, consumer protection, and transparency. Through ARCC, Lori works to improve understanding of how appraisal laws and regulations are written, interpreted, and enforced, as well as how those systems affect appraisers, consumers, and the credibility of the profession itself.
Lori holds the distinguished SRA designation and is a longstanding member of the Appraisal Institute. She serves on the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs appraisal panel in both West Virginia and Virginia and holds a bachelor’s degree in real estate studies.
Through The Valuation Collective, Lori brings the perspective of an experienced practitioner, policy advocate, educator, and mentor. She understands both the technical demands of complex appraisal work and the larger professional systems in which appraisers operate. Her ability to translate that experience into practical guidance gives other appraisers the knowledge and confidence to better understand their responsibilities, protect their practices, and expand what they believe is possible within the valuation profession.
